We've added internet radio streams in LobsterTunes 1.2.

The new version comes with some pre-loaded US, UK (BBC, Virgin etc.), German and French stations. You can get more from our site (checkout the Menu/Get Radio Stations in the 1.2 version).

You can also add your own stations. Here's how to make your own LobsterTunes radio stations:-

Create a text file on your desktop with notepad with a .fm suffix containing one line with a streaming url that you know will work with Windows Media Player. e.g. "BBC Radio 6.fm" containing:-

mms://wmlive.bbc.co.uk/wms/6music/hi_s1

Make sure you save it with the .fm suffix.

ActiveSync the file onto your WM5 device into the directory:-

My DocumentsMy Radio

Next time you run Lobster you should see your new entry in "My Radio". Select it , tap Play Now and in a short while it should start playing.

If it doesnt - check the url really works with Mobile Windows Media Player Mobile by launching Window Media Player and entering it manually into the Windows Media Player Library URL menu.

If you want a station logo too, create a jpg image on your desktop, any size will work but 120x120 is the best. Save it with the same file name prefix as the radio station (e.g. "BBC Radio 6.jpg"). Copy it across to your WindowsMobile device to the My DocumentsMy Radio directory and next time you play your station in LobsterTunes you will see the station logo too.

P.S. Here's how I figured out the url to use for BBC News 24 Hour TV:-

You will need to get a url for the BBC News 24 hour feed. I use Roku's Radio Snooper http://www.rokulabs.com/support_sb_dwnld_radiosnoop.php do this by browsing to the BBC 24 Hour news page - http://news.bbc.co.uk/
setting my preferences windows media player and to low bandwidth ( < 256kbit) , viewing it and then checking the url's in the snooper for one that
looks something like:-

mms://wmlive-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms/news/news24_nb2_s1

(the nb appears to stand for a narrow band as opposed to broadband (high bandwidth ) feed.
